Certificate of Fitness issued to CSX Transportation, Inc. by the Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) pursuant to subsections 92(1) and 92(2) of the Canada Transportation Act, SC 1996, c 10 (CTA), which permits CSX Transportation, Inc. (CSXT) the following:
- to operate, through a running rights agreement between CSXT and its wholly owned subsidiary, the Lake Erie and Detroit River Railway Company, a line of railway between mileage 44.6 and mileage 71.5 of the Sarnia Subdivision, in the province of Ontario;
- to operate on a line of railway owned by its subsidiary, the St. Lawrence and Adirondack Railway Company, between the Canada–USA border near Fort Covington, New York, USA, and Valleyfield, Quebec, and between Beauharnois and Adirondack Junction, Quebec, of the Montreal Subdivision; and to operate, through a lease agreement with the Canadian National Railway Company, a line of railway between Valleyfield and Beauharnois, Quebec; and
- to operate a line of railway within the intermodal terminal owned by CSX Intermodal Terminals Inc. on the Valleyfield Industrial Track, including the wye track, between mileage 0.00 and mileage 1.93, originating at mileage 210.81 of the Montreal Subdivision, in the area of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec.
As per Schedule IV of the CTA, CSXT is authorized to operate a railway, which includes the carriage of:
- toxic inhalation hazard materials;
- crude oil; and
- other dangerous goods as defined in section 2 of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act, 1992, SC 1992, c 34.
